Saudi Arabia has taken another major step in accelerating Saudi growth as Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley oversaw the signing of 12 strategic agreements between the National Center for Palms and Dates and several public- and private-sector entities. These agreements aim to strengthen the Kingdom’s leadership in date production and processing, while advancing innovation and sustainability in the sector.
The minister also honored winners of the 4th International Award of the National Center for Palms and Dates, which recognizes breakthroughs in modern technologies, scientific research, and innovative solutions that enhance productivity and support national food security. This initiative further reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as the world’s largest exporter of dates, highlighting the sector’s economic significance in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The announcement took place during the opening of the 6th International Dates Conference and Exhibition in Riyadh, themed “Investment and Innovation to Explore New Horizons for the Palm and Date Sector.” Organized in scientific partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), the event brings together key local and international players in the palm and dates industry. The agreements emphasize the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening public private collaboration and expanding industrial opportunities derived from date products.
