Saudi Arabia has taken a decisive step in the global digital economy with the launch of the Hexagon Data Center in Riyadh, the world’s largest government data center and one of the most advanced facilities globally. With a massive 480-MW capacity and spanning over 30 million square feet, the Tier IV certified center positions the Kingdom as a rising powerhouse in global data and AI infrastructure.
Developed under the strategic direction of the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the Hexagon Data Center reflects the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to transform Saudi Arabia into a global hub for advanced technologies. The project strengthens the Kingdom’s technical sovereignty over data, supports non-oil revenue diversification, and reinforces its leadership in AI-driven economies.
Built to LEED Gold sustainability standards, the center integrates renewable energy, smart hybrid cooling systems, and direct liquid cooling to achieve world-class energy efficiency. It has also secured key global accreditations, including Tier IV reliability (99.995% availability), TIA-942, and ISO/IEC 22237, placing it among the most resilient and secure data centers worldwide.
SDAIA estimates that the Kingdom’s expanding data center network will generate over SAR 10 billion in local economic impact and SAR 1.8 billion in annual savings, while accelerating digital government services and improving quality of life across Saudi Arabia.
