Davos 2026: Saudi Arabia’s Young Talent Emerges as Its Most Valuable Resource, Says Industry Minister

Saudi Arabia’s young talent and human capital are the Kingdom’s most valuable assets, surpassing even its vast natural resources, according to Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef. The minister made the remarks during a high-level panel titled “The Human Code: Designing Capability Systems” at the Saudi House, held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland.

While affirming that Saudi Arabia is rich in oil, gas, petrochemicals, and mineral resources, Alkhorayef emphasized that the Kingdom’s young population represents a strategic pillar and a qualitative competitive advantage, especially at a time when many advanced economies face workforce decline due to aging populations.

The minister further outlined Saudi Arabia’s vision to equip its workforce with advanced technical and AI skills, ensuring readiness for the ongoing industrial transformation. He also emphasized the importance of public-private integration, noting that while the private sector leads industrial and mining investments, the government plays a critical role in enabling infrastructure, innovation-friendly policies, and workforce development.

Alkhorayef also highlighted the rapid development of the Saudi mining sector, the third pillar of national industry under Vision 2030, supported by modern mining technologies, remote operations, sustainability standards, and energy efficiency.

The Kingdom’s participation at Davos 2026 reinforces Saudi Arabia’s growing role on global economic platforms and its commitment to sustainable development, industrial transformation, and human capital empowerment.
