Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national airline, has announced Cairo as a key addition to its rapidly expanding route network, with daily flights from Riyadh set to commence soon. The service will be operated using the airline’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, reinforcing its commitment to delivering a world-class travel experience.
The new route supports Saudi Arabia’s broader aviation and tourism ambitions under Saudi Vision 2030, strengthening connectivity between the Kingdom and major regional and global hubs.
Commenting on the announcement, Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas stated that the launch of commercial services to Cairo marks a significant milestone in the airline’s journey to connect Riyadh to the world. He noted that Cairo was strategically selected due to strong market demand and its alignment with the airline’s long-term growth vision.
Following the successful completion of its “Pathway to Perfect” operational readiness phase, Riyadh Air is expected to receive its first aircraft in the coming weeks and launch commercial services to London, Dubai, and Cairo shortly thereafter. The Riyadh–Cairo route is among the busiest globally, with 2.7 million passengers recorded last year, highlighting its importance for business, tourism, and pilgrimage travel.
Riyadh Air confirmed that network expansion will continue at an accelerated pace, with plans to serve over 100 destinations by 2030, supporting economic diversification, tourism growth, and international connectivity.
