What Is the Green Riyadh Project?
The Green Riyadh Project aims to increase the amount of green space across Riyadh by planting more than 7.5 million trees throughout the city. These trees are planned for locations including neighborhood gardens, parks, schools, mosques, healthcare facilities, public facilities, streets and roads.
The project aims to increase Riyadh’s green coverage from approximately 1.5% to around 9%, while increasing green space available per person from approximately 1.7 square meters to 28 square meters.
