Saudi Arabia Announces New Hajj 2025 Visa Rules: Key Changes and Requirements

In preparation for Hajj 2025 visa rules, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has unveiled updated visa regulations aimed at ensuring the safety and organization of pilgrims. These changes affect entry permits, age restrictions, and visa issuance processes.

Key Updates to Hajj 2025 Visa Regulations

1. Mandatory Hajj Visa for Entry into Makkah

Starting April 29, 2025, only individuals holding a valid Hajj visa will be permitted to enter or remain in Makkah. Residents without proper permits will be denied entry and returned to their original location. Be aware of Hajj 2025 visa rules.

2. Suspension of Umrah Permits

Umrah permits issued through the ‘Nusuk’ platform will be suspended from April 29 to June 10, 2025. This suspension applies to citizens of Saudi Arabia, residents, GCC nationals, and holders of other visa types.

3. Age Restrictions for Pilgrims

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to participate in Hajj 2025. This measure is implemented to protect children from potential overcrowding dangers during the pilgrimage.

4. Permit Requirements for Residents

Residents within Saudi Arabia wishing to enter Makkah during the Hajj season must obtain permits from the relevant authorities starting April 23, 2025. Those without proper permits will be barred from entering the city.

5. Single-Entry Visa Policy for Specific Countries

Effective February 1, 2025, Saudi Arabia will issue only single-entry visas to pilgrims from 14 countries, including India, to prevent unauthorized participation.

Application Process for Hajj Visa

Foreign nationals wishing to perform Hajj must apply for a Hajj visa through travel agents authorized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah. The visa is valid exclusively during the Hajj period, and all pilgrims are required to leave Saudi Arabia by the 10th day of Muharram.

Compliance and Penalties

The Ministry of Interior urges full compliance with these regulations to ensure the safety and security of all pilgrims. Violations of these rules will result in legal penalties.
