The Transport General Authority (TGA) has granted a new license to Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) to operate container trains at additional stations across the Kingdom’s railway network.
This initiative aims to strengthen logistics connectivity between ports and cargo terminals while improving the flexibility of goods transport within Saudi Arabia and across neighboring GCC countries. Currently, container trains handle over 2,500 TEUs daily, and the expansion is expected to further increase capacity and support supply-chain stability.
