UAE President and Indian PM Witness Signing of Multiple Agreements

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the exchange of multiple agreements, memoranda of understanding, and letters of intent aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation between the UAE and India. The exchanges took place during His Highness’ working visit to India, highlighting the strong and expanding strategic partnership between the two nations.

Defence and Security Partnership

Among the key outcomes was a Letter of Intent on a Strategic Defence Partnership between the UAE and India. The document was exchanged by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, reinforcing cooperation in defence and security.

Expanding Cooperation in Space and Advanced Technology

A Letter of Intent between the UAE Space Agency and India’s IN-SPACe was also exchanged, launching a joint initiative to promote space industry development and commercial collaboration. This agreement reflects both countries’ commitment to innovation, advanced technology, and future-focused industries.

Energy and Food Security Agreements

Energy ties were further strengthened through a Sales and Purchase Agreement between ADNOC Gas and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), supporting long-term energy cooperation. In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding on Food Safety and Technical Requirements was signed between the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and India’s APEDA, facilitating smoother trade and regulatory alignment.

Investment Cooperation and Economic Growth

The two sides also exchanged a Letter of Intent on Investment Cooperation between the UAE Ministry of Investment and the Government of Gujarat for the development of the Dholera Special Investment Region, signaling increased UAE investment in India’s industrial and infrastructure projects.
